After taking doxyPEP
DoxyPEP lowers your risk, but it does not bring it to zero. Keep testing for STIs every three months, also when you feel fine. If you notice symptoms such as discharge, a sore, pain when peeing or a rash, get tested straight away.
Mild side effects such as nausea usually pass within a day. Read more about doxyPEP side effects and when to contact a doctor.
How to store your tablets
- At room temperature, in a dry place, not in the bathroom.
- In the original packaging, out of sight and reach of children.
- Check the expiry date on the box before you take a dose.
- Travelling? Keep them in your hand luggage, in the original box.
When you should not take doxyPEP
Do not take doxyPEP if you are pregnant, allergic to doxycycline or other tetracyclines, or use isotretinoin for acne. Some other medicines, such as blood thinners and certain epilepsy medicines, can also interact. That is why the doctor checks your health questions before your pack is sent.
